Miner negotiating land access with CLC

Posted November 25, 2008 12:42:00

The managing director of Western Desert Resources says the company is negotiating with the Central Land Council (CLC) for clearance to explore near Tennant Creek for copper and gold.

Norm Gardner says the company is committed to all its Northern Territory projects, despite the global economic downturn.

He says the company is hoping to finalise a deal over the Rover projects and do further survey work early next year.

"We'll be looking to finalise a deal with the CLC to grant access," he said.

"We'll be looking to do some geophysical survey work probably in the first quarter of next year if we can get everything signed off with a view to hopefully start a drilling campaign sometimes in the second quarter of next year."
