Call for funds for motor neurone disease support
Posted
There are calls for greater support to help people living with motor neurone disease.
On average, a person dies from the illness every day in Australia.
Motor Neurone Disease Australia president Ralph Warren says more money is needed to help people with the illness live a better life.
"We don't get government funding per se for research," he said.
"We have to raise money from the public for that and we are getting better at it and the public are becoming more aware of it.
"Clearly the more money we get for research, the sooner we'll find a cure."
