Opponents of the North South Pipeline project in Victoria have assembled a convoy of 40 trucks and cars to protest against the plan.

The protesters from towns in the Goulburn Valley drove to Yarra Glen where the pipeline project advisory committee is holding hearings.

The anti-pipeline group "Plug the Pipe" says the project, headed by Melbourne Water, has not completed an adequate environmental study into the effect of the pipeline.

They also say the State Government is not fully consulting the community and that the project will harm the environment.
